How your video consultation works
AirSpire video visits run right in your browser — there is nothing to download and no meeting code to type. This guide walks you through joining, what to expect, and how to fix the most common problems.
Before you start
- 1.Use a phone, tablet, or computer with a working camera and microphone. Any recent Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox browser works.
- 2.Find a quiet, well-lit spot with a stable internet connection. Wi-Fi or a strong mobile-data signal both work.
- 3.Have your peak-flow meter, inhalers, and any medication nearby so you can show them to your physician if asked.
The join window
Your video room does not stay open all day — it unlocks around your appointment time:
- Opens:15 minutes before your scheduled start time.
- Closes:15 minutes after the appointment is due to end.
If you open the visit page early, you will see a friendly countdown showing exactly when the room opens. Keep that page open — it unlocks on its own, so you do not need to refresh or come back.
How to join your visit
- 1Sign in and open Appointments from the menu.
- 2Find your upcoming appointment and tap Join video visit. (Within 15 minutes of the start, the button becomes active.)
- 3Your browser will ask permission to use your camera and microphone — tap Allow. You will see yourself in the small preview.
- 4When your physician joins, their video fills the screen automatically. Use the on-screen buttons to mute your mic, turn your camera on/off, or leave the call.
Physicians join the same way from the Physician → Appointments page. Either person can join first; the call connects as soon as you are both in the room.
Troubleshooting
I don't see the other person
The call connects only when both people are in the room during the join window. If you are waiting, you will see "Waiting for the other participant to join…". Give it a moment; if it persists, both of you should leave and re-open the visit page.
My camera or microphone isn't working
Check the small camera/lock icon in your browser's address bar and make sure AirSpire is allowed to use the camera and microphone, then reload the page. On a phone, also check that no other app (e.g. WhatsApp) is currently using the camera.
The video is frozen or keeps dropping
This is almost always the network. Move closer to your Wi-Fi router or to a spot with a stronger mobile signal, turn off other downloads/streams, and if it continues, leave and rejoin — the call will re-establish on a fresh connection.
"Your video room opens at…" — but it's my appointment time
Your device clock may be slightly off, or the appointment time shown is in a different time zone. The room opens 15 minutes before the start time shown on the page. If you believe the time is wrong, contact your care team.
Your privacy
Video and audio are sent directly and securely between you and your physician for the duration of the call. AirSpire does not record your consultation. For details on how we handle your information, see our Privacy Policy and Health Data Protection Notice.
